The now world-famous recipe belonged to “Mama Nina”-Phil’s grandmother, Nina Catalano. I've lived in Akron for almost five years and only recently discovered this local seafood market. In that early era we added our first food item, a family inspired Cioppino-to-go. Phil began by primarily selling locally caught fish and, as we grew, customers began referring to the shop as “Phil’s Fish Market”. The original Phil’s Fish Market, known then as the Fish Market at Moss Landing, opened in 1982 in a tiny (250 square foot) industrial space on the island.
